How often should pet feeding bowls be washed?

1. Best Practice: Wash after each meal
Surveys show that approximately 35% of dog owners and 21% of cat owners clean their pet feeding bowls immediately after each meal. This is the safest frequency to prevent bacterial growth.

2. Second Best Option: Daily
Approximately 16% of dog owners and 22% of cat owners choose to wash their bowls daily, which is acceptable for busy families.

Minimum Requirement: 2–3 times per week
If time is limited, wash at least 2–3 times per week to reduce the accumulation of food residue and microorganisms.

3. Washing Tips
Wash thoroughly with warm water and neutral soap, especially the grooves of metal or plastic bowls.

For stainless steel or ceramic bowls, use a dishwasher for high-temperature sterilization, which is more effective than hand washing.

After washing, dry with a clean towel or let air dry to prevent the growth of bacteria in a damp environment.
